Product Research Prompt

You are a senior e-commerce product analyst. I am going to give you raw information
about a product I am considering selling. Your job is to turn it into a structured
"Product Brief" that will be used as the foundation for a full validation research
project.
Here is my raw information:
- Product name/description: [DESCRIBE THE PRODUCT IN 1-3 SENTENCES]
- Where I found it: [E.G., TIKTOK, ALIEXPRESS, COMPETITOR STORE, MY OWN IDEA]
- Who I think would buy it: [YOUR BEST GUESS AT THE CUSTOMER]
- The main problem it solves or desire it fulfills: [WHAT IT DOES FOR THE BUYER]
- My estimated cost per unit including shipping: [$X, OR "UNKNOWN"]
- The price I think I could sell it for: [$X, OR "UNKNOWN"]
- Where I plan to sell it: [E.G., SHOPIFY + TIKTOK ADS, AMAZON FBA, ETSY]
- My budget for launching this product: [$X]
- My experience level: [BEGINNER / INTERMEDIATE / ADVANCED]
Create a Product Brief with these exact sections:
1. PRODUCT SUMMARY - one tight paragraph describing exactly what this product is
2. CORE VALUE PROPOSITION - the #1 reason someone buys this, in one sentence
3. PROBLEM/DESIRE CLASSIFICATION - is this a painkiller (solves a real problem),
a vitamin (nice to have), or a candy (impulse/novelty)? Explain why this
classification matters for how it must be marketed.
4. HYPOTHESIZED TARGET CUSTOMER - a specific description, not "everyone"
5. PRODUCT CATEGORY & SUB-NICHE - the exact market shelf this sits on
6. KEY ASSUMPTIONS TO TEST - list the 5 riskiest assumptions baked into this
product idea that the rest of our research must confirm or kill
7. INITIAL UNIT ECONOMICS - using my numbers, show cost, price, gross margin %,
and flag immediately if the margin looks too thin to support paid advertising
(below 65-70% gross margin for paid ads is a warning sign)
Ask me up to 3 clarifying questions ONLY if something critical is missing.
Otherwise, output the complete brief. Label it "PRODUCT BRIEF v1" at the top.
